Budget 2020-21 Analysis

With $4bn allocated to Official Development Assistance (ODA), plus an additional $304.7m COVID19 response package for the Pacific and Timor-Leste, we are pleased to see an effective increase in the aid budget for the first time since 2013-14.
This additional funding is a welcome, and important one-off investment to support our neighbouring countries through the economic and social challenges presented by the pandemic. But more information will be required as to how this funding will be spent in order to understand its true impact in the region.
