As part of the 2024 World Health Summit Regional Meeting, the Australian Global Health Alliance co-hosted a powerful Intergenerational Masterclass on Health, Policy & Leadership, in collaboration with Monash University and VicHealth.
Bringing together a diverse cohort of emerging and established leaders across the global health ecosystem, this Masterclass created a rare space for honest, intergenerational dialogue on the challenges, opportunities, and responsibilities of leadership in today’s complex health landscape.
Through interactive panels, collaborative workshops, and reflective storytelling, participants explored:
Navigating leadership in a rapidly shifting geopolitical and climate context
How to meaningfully embed equity and Indigenous perspectives in health policy
Balancing lived experience with technical expertise in decision-making
Building inclusive, resilient leadership pipelines in health
The role of courage, humility, and care in shaping future leaders
With contributions from youth leaders, senior policymakers, advocates, and health professionals from across the Asia-Pacific, the session fostered real-time mentorship, mutual learning, and a shared vision for accountable, inclusive leadership in global health.
The Masterclass was a standout moment in the WHS Regional Meeting program and exemplifies the Alliance’s ongoing commitment to fostering leadership that is grounded in equity, collaboration, and community.
