The Global Fund is a partnership designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics. As an international organisation, the Global Fund mobilises and invests more than US$4 billion a year to support programs run by local experts in countries and communities most in need. In partnership with governments, civil society, technical agencies, the private sector and people affected by the diseases, we are challenging barriers and embracing innovation. Smart, effective health investments through the Global Fund have saved 27 million lives and built resilient and sustainable systems for health.
Founded in 2000, the mission of Gavi is to save children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries. Gavi is a unique organisation that aligns public and private resources in a global effort to create greater access to the benefits of immunisation. It does this with precision and in creative, innovative ways to ensure that donor contributions efficiently save lives and help build self-sufficiency in the world’s poorest communities and regions.
Established in 2006, Unitaid is a global health initiative that works through market-based interventions to achieve global market and public health impact. It finds innovative solutions and tools for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of major diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, as well as HIV co-infections and co-morbidities, such as cervical cancer and hepatitis C, and cross-cutting issues, such as fever management. Its catalytic projects aim to fill the gap between late-stage development of health products and their widespread adoption, allowing countries and major funders such as the Global Fund to deliver more with less.
