Key recommendations from this week’s Burnet Institute Know C-19 analysis include:
- Decentralize the model of care for the public health response
- Targeted testing and establish surveillance
- In a residential aged care facility (RACF), when a resident tests positive, in addition to a clinical assessment, assess the capacity of the facility to effectively isolate the patient. If this is not feasible, the patient — even if mild disease or asymptomatic — should be transferred to a medically supervised setting, such as a hospital.
- Engage adolescents
